Brian Talbot Receives Two French Comic Awards
DownTheTubes reported that English comic creator Brian Talbot has been recognized in France with two separate awards.
Talbot, known for his work with 2000AD and DC Comics, was awarded the Prix Claude Vistel des comics de patrimoine for a French language translation of his work The Tale of One Bad Rat. The Prix Claude Vistel des comics de patrimoine was established in 2024 in an effort to “recognise the quality of American and English-language comics published in France.” The second translated work of Talbot’s recognized in France, The Casebook of Stamford Hawksmoor, won the Prix Millepages BD For the best Bande Dessinée of 2025.
DownTheTubes also noted that The Tale of One Bad Rat has received a wide international demand, being second only to Art Spiegelman’s Maus for requests at libraries in the United States.

Tarzan Beyond launches in 2026
Alien Books revealed that the next title in their Beyond series will be Tarzan. The announcement posted on their website states:
The all-new ‘Tarzan’ comics will be produced in collaboration with the team at Edgar Rice Burroughs, Inc. and sold into direct market comic shops next year through Alien’s sub-distribution partnership with IDW Publishing, beginning with ‘TARZAN BEYOND’ by red-hot writer Steve Orlando and international superstar artist Renato Guedes.
The new series will begin with a story revolving around Blackbeard the Pirate, and feature “a wiser and older Tarzan and Jane, who have aged over many years of adventures but retain their youthful appearance thanks to the Waters of Kavuru.
Alien Book’s Beyond series has thus far covered Valiant properties, including Shadowman and Bloodshot. An (impressive) looking preview page can be found on Alien Books’ website, along with more concept art. The series will launch sometime in 2026.
